Our school pioneered ‘one school two streams’ to fully actualize the “bi-literate and tri-lingual language policy” in 2000. Since then, the EMI (English as the Medium of Instruction) stream has been in operation. Starting from 2013/14, all junior secondary classes (S1 - S3) have adopted English as the medium of instruction. Putonghua is used as the medium of instruction in Chinese Language and Chinese History for all levels.

Our students have achieved excellent results in public examinations. For 29 consecutive years, our S5 graduates attained a pass rate of over 92% in 5 subjects. Our EMI students also performed well. Over 98% of the EMI students attained 5 passes in their HKCEE results. Our students achieved very good results in the HKDSE as well. The rates of achieving Level 2 (pass rate) or above and Level 4 (credit rate) or above were higher than those of Hong Kong schools. The credit rate was about 50%. Many of our S6 students achieved distinguished results. The graduates of 2014, LAI Wan Ying and LI Kin Hei as well as the graduates of 2016, LIU Munan and LAM Man Ting achieved level 5** or level 5* in six subjects in the HKDSE and were admitted to the undergraduate programme offered by the School of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. There were 182 S6 students participating in the 2017 Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS) and 102 of them were admitted to the undergraduate programmes offered by the tertiary institutions of Hong Kong. 37 of them were admitted to the undergraduate programmes of the University of Hong Kong (10 students), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (17 students) as well as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (10 students). In addition, 60% of our S6 graduates (111 students) were admitted to the undergraduate programmes offered by the local and overseas tertiary institutions in 2017. XIE Qihao, an outstanding student, received an offer from the University of Michigan, United States to study Mathematics.

Our school has set up more than 70 extra-curricular activity (ECA) clubs and interest groups. Our students take part in various competitions and have won many prizes and awards. In 2016/17, our students took home 74 champions, 66 first runners-up, 70 second runners-up/third runners-up and 593 certificates of merit, totaling 803 awards. For sports performance, we have been awarded second place in the BOCHK Bauhinia Bowl Award among 190 co-educational schools for the past 3 years (2015-2017). Moreover, our swimming, basketball, badminton, table-tennis and girls cross-country teams are competing in Inter-school Division 1.
