There are two voluntary teams in our school, namely Voluntary Work Team and Social Services Team, set up in 2002 and 2003 respectively. Our aim is to make our team members and fellow students recognize the significance of participating in voluntary work. Through the experience of helping people in need, we hope students can treasure what they have and learn to express their care for others. Joining the “Voluntary Work Project” launched by the Agency for Volunteer Service, our team members keep a record of number of hours they serve and we win a lot of awards from it. Activities include an annual tour to help people living in poverty, home visits, flag-selling and McDonald’s raffle-ticket selling, cleaning up for the elderly’s homes and visiting street sleepers.
Students’ Achievements: Students recognize a new “self” exercising their strengths in participating in various kinds of voluntary activities to genuinely care for the poor and minority groups in the society. Students develop a sense of responsibility, self-confidence, co-operation, organization skills, communication skills and leadership skills, all of which help facilitate further development of their potentials in daily life. We aim, by setting up the Voluntary Work Team, to enhance their personal accomplishment and moral values.
