Moral Education
Introduction to moral education

The moral education in our school is based on concept of the Western thought and traditional Confusian thought. Four departments are responsible for the implementation of the moral education. These four departments work together. They are class teacher work group, civic department, counselling department and discipline departments."Disciplining, counselling and teaching" are integrated together to strengthen classes.

Specific measures include:

1. Maintain home visit program
Since 1951 our school has set up home visits system. Our class teachers will have home visits to their students so that the class teachers have a all-round understanding of the students. In addition to home visits, telephone interviews and school interviews with the parents will also be implemented by the class teacher.

2. Emphasis on the training and support each other of the class teachers
Our school is one of the member of the class teacher work Research Council. Every year, outstanding class teachers are elected and are awarded prizes and certificates.

3. Home-school cooperation
Our school has always emphasize on home-school cooperation.

4. "Thumb Appreciation Card" program
We designed and printed thumb-based appreciation cards for the promotion of appreciating each other.

5. Self-discipline Challenge
Self-discipline Challenge is set for all junior Forms students The classes are assessed every four cycles and awards would be given to the classes which score high. The assessment criteria are students' punctuality, uniform and discipline room records. The programme aims at enhancing the students' awareness of self-discipline.

6. Penalties cancelling program
The plan is to enhance students' sense of responsibility. If a student no longer break the rules, and is willing to perform volunteer services, their record penalties can be cancelled.

7. Restoration Programme
Mediators are chosen from the prefect team to deal with minor disciplinary cases in Forms 1 and 2. The behaviour of the students joining the programme is monitored by the mediators. It aims at helping the students improve their behaviour and training the mediators' leadership and restoration skills.

8. To establish a "seven good habits" program
This program is implemented in the regular school curriculum. In Liberal Studies lessons, students are required to read "The 7 habits of highly effective teens" in the translation of the "seven good habits".
