Career Counselling

The Career and Further Study Guidance Team organizes a wide range of activities to help students develop self-awareness and set goals for tertiary education and career aspirations.

 

To assist students to consider their career paths and indentify universities that best match their strengths and interests, the Career and Further Study Guidance Team has adopted the following approaches:

 

  1. Organizing seminars and visits to universities, educational institutes and exhibitions which address the needs of students and parents
  2. Conducting Career Counseling Sessions and Hong Kong Online Career Interest Assessment for S.3 to S.6 students
  3. Encouraging students to access rich resources in the Career and Further Study Centre
  4. Arranging Seniors of the Career and Further Study Guidance Team and teachers to station in the Centre and answer enquires
  5. Introducing Pre-university courses for students who would like to further their studies overseas, in mainland China and Taiwan
  6. Broadening students’ mind to more diverse further studies and assisting them to sit for the IGCSE and GCE A-levels
  7. Embarking activities related to ‘Career Related Experiences’ of OLE (Other Learning Experiences and implementing ‘Applied Learning’ electives)

 

Career and Further Study Guidance Programs for S.3 to S.7

 

S.3

  1. Career counselling sessions enable students to better understand their personalities, interests, career orientation and assess their own abilities.
  2. Students are exposed to learning and job opportunities when they graduate from S.3.

 

S.4

  1. Students explore their interests, talents, preferred faculties in universities and ideal careers through participating in ‘Work Related Experiences’ and ‘Career Counselling Sessions’.
  2. Students are given opportunities to attend talks on future studies and careers.
  3. A wide range of faculties and programs offered by the local universities and colleges are introduced to S.4 students.

 

S.5 to S.7

  1. Students attend college and career talks.
  2. Students understand the requirements of individual universities and admission procedures of JUPAS.
  3. Students equip themselves with skills for writing application letters, resumes and interview skills.
  4. Students have opportunities to know the specialties of universities and their faculties.
  5. Briefings on Associate Degree Programs and their prospect are offered to students.
  6. Students are encouraged to explore local and overseas education opportunities
  7. Students are prepared to write the personal statement in ‘Student Learning Profile’.
