Home Economics Education

Although Home Economics education has been playing a humble part in the school curriculum, to some extent, it does contribute its significance in term of all- round development in the education program.

In the early years of the school development (2000-2006), Home Economics subject was provided for F.1 and F.2 students only. Since the academic year of 2006-2007, Home Economics has been open to F.3 students as an elective subject. This was a welcoming decision to many students. With the development of the New Senior Secondary Education in 2009-2010 academic year, F.4 students can continue to study Home Economics in the OLE program (Namely ‘The Art of Living’) for about 20 hours.

When looking ahead, besides teaching the basic life skills to junior forms students, a much higher aim of Home Economics education is to educate students to acquire a good taste, to appreciate beautiful things in everyday living, so when they venture into adulthood, they may learn how to enjoy life.
